The Mindanao Blog Awards aims to give recognition to the finest of weblogs of, in, or about Mindanao. What will set this Awards apart is its focus on content, and not on link popularity or search-engine ranking. Although such metrics will also be taken into account, the quality, consistency, relevance, depth and efficacy of a blog’s content will form the core of the criteria.
The Mindanao Blog Awards 2007, which is to be held as a culminating event of the 1st Mindanao Bloggers Summit, is the pioneering endeavor of a group of Mindanaoans who envision a more progressive Mindanao through their activities as bloggers.
In order to be considered for screening and nomination, blogs must be submitted and accepted into the Mindanao Blog Directory. More information regarding the Awards will be posted here in the very near future. In the meantime, the following are the Awards Categories:

UPDATED: 14 August 2007
A paris flight is usually never forgotten. Not because of the hotels, or the excellent rental cars. The place is magic, just the way a cruise is. Even more magical than resorts, and it even has rental cars. On the other hand, there is nothing to be remembered about new york flights. Not only are they not so cheap flights, but hard to get too.

Good luck to all Mindanao bloggers!
Incidentally, may I suggest that the vinta sail be drawn as a computer screen? That way people will associate blogs with computers.

Concern: What if the blog is purely written in the local language e.g. Talandig-Binukid, Kinongking… and none of the judges understand it, how will they judge it?

@Zimm — That is a concern indeed! We thought that we’d get consultants on local languages, if the need comes up. Your blog, by the way, is that Camayo? My grandmother hails from Cateel, but sadly, I was never taught how to speak Dinabaw.
August 12th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
@Zimm — Oops, sorry. I was thinking of another blog when I asked if yours was in Camayo. I was thinking of the catilangnon blog.

i’m thinking if I’m worthy for any award, not because that i am included in the directory… but just a self-evaluation…
August 13th, 2007 at 12:02 am
@brVince — Yes, the Awards also aims to provide bloggers with a way to self-evaluate. It’s also a way to help one improve his blog by becoming aware of others’ blogs.

Andrew & I tweaked the colors of the vinta a bit, to make it look more attuned to the traditional colors of Mindanao.

@Blogie
Some of my posts in the http://www.pidjanga.blogspot.com are in Sinurigao (I think it’s 70% Cebuano). Cantilangnon’s posts are also in Sinurigao but slightly different from ours. Kamayo is completely different (I think around only 20% Cebuano). Periodico Surigao is COMPLETELY Cebuano.
