For some reasons I think brought about by the deregulation of air travel with the help of competition and demand-and-supply the 3 major Philippines-based air carriers Cebu Pacific (domestic and international), Air Philippines (domestic) and Philippine Airlines (domestic) simultaneously have their own seat promotions. Whew! I’m now very torn when and where to go to take advantage of these seasonal offerings, additionally I’m confused what airline to choose.

I now truly believe that our country is being dominated by Chinese businessmen that the Chinese traits and beliefs in business are being adapted in this country because you will see the lucky number “8″ everywhere. There’s nothing wrong with that… In fact, I’m thankful because a domestic seat goes as low as 8 pesos and 888 pesos for Asian destinations.

I will no longer mention the different terms and mechanics on how to avail of the low fares being offered by the 3 airlines. Just visit their websites to find out more and book online to have a hassle-free airline ticket.

Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific rolled-of today its year-end sale to its domestic destinations through its much awaited seasonal PISO FARE promotion. The airline is offering 1 peso one-way fares for travel from January 1 to March 12, 2008. More than 100,000 seats are up for grabs. Logically, the promo fare doesn’t include fuel surcharge and government taxes. For example, a one-way fare to/from Davao to/from Manila will only set you back 1,400 pesos, while the Davao-Cebu route costs 1,300 pesos.

So hurry and buy your tickets fast as the year end PISO FARE will only run from November 28 to December 2, 2007 or until seats are sold out.

The easiest way to book your PISO FARE flight is through the airline’s web site www.cebupacificair.com

Cebu Pacific, the number 1 domestic airline offers more than 100,000 domestic route seats for only 1 peso (of course excluding government taxes and fuel surcharge). The seat sale starts tomorrow September 7 up to September 11 only and for travel from November 1 to December 20. You may book online or through your favorite travel agent.

More or less a one-way ticket from any Mindanao destination to Manila and vise-versa would only cost 1,300 pesos all in. Virtually, the ticket cost consists of government tax and fuel surcharge.

It’s time now to take away the limelight to those mainstream airlines (PAL, Air Philippines and Cebu Pacific) for the mean time and let’s focus on those humble airlines offering the so called “missionary routes” which big airline companies find unprofitable so they are shying away from them. Another reason for mainstream airlines “abandoning” the missionary routes is that their jet aircraft is not suitable for short runways.

One of my friend wants to go to Siargao but she’s having second thoughts because of the possible hassles on going there through Butuan via PAL or ebu Pacific. She doesn’t know that SEAIR flies directly to Siargao via Cebu. [Read on»]

CEBLow-cost airline Cebu Pacific has reduced its year-round ‘Go’ fares for most of its domestic routes beginning July 20, 2007.

The year-round one-way fare for services from Manila to any Mindanao destination (and vise-versa) was reduced by more than 30% from P998 to P688. Fares are equivalent to an all-inclusive one-way of a little over 2,000 pesos.

It is advisable for everyone to plan their trips and buy their tickets as early as possible and ideally at least a month before their intended travel date, to get the best availability of the super low year-round fares.

It’s travel season again for ticket bargain hunters as it is the lean season as far as the local travel/tourism industry is concerned. I saw an advertisement for Philippine Airlines regarding its Buy 1 Economy Class Domestic Ticket and Take 2 Domestic Economy Class Tickets For Free! promo.

The weather nowadays is unpredictable as it is already typhoon season. The best place to travel now is Mindanao as the region is seldom being struck by typhoons because of its geographic location. Mindanao has its own share of rain as part of a tropical country but not much of typhoons.

During the typhoon season Mindanao is the new “alternative” destination for those who always opt to go to Boracay, Cebu, Iloilo or any other destinations in Luzon and Visayas. [Read on»]
