Ciudad de Zamboanga waits for you at the MBS 4

The Zamboanga Bloggers Community officially announces the 4th edition of the Mindanao Bloggers Summit on October 29-31, 2010 in the Asia’s Latin City, Ciudad de Zamboanga.
After a number of meetings, the core group composed of Ryann Z. Elumba, Yolynne Medina, Grace Sojor, Cedrick Zabala and Jerome Locson decided on the theme – THE MINDANAO PROJECT: Weaving Voices Online. This year’s summit aims to create a venue for Mindanaoan bloggers to discuss issues affecting them and formulate strategies to help reach their common goal of creating a brighter Mindanao.
The summit will be kicked-off by a Blogging Seminar on October 29, 2010. It aims to give newbie bloggers and blogging enthusiasts tips on how to create successful blogs.
The summit proper will be held on October 30, 2010 at Zamboanga’s finest hotel – the Garden Orchid Hotel. Top blogging personalities and guests have already confirmed their participation as speakers during the summit. Registration fee for the summit proper is P500.
Blogs and bloggers from Mindanao will be awarded on the same day during the Philippine Blog Awards – Mindanao.
Zamboanga City has many sights and things to offer to its visitors. The organizers would like to invite you to visit historical and beautiful spots of the city on October 31, 2010. Partnering for the city tour are the local tourism department and the Committees on Tourism and Science and Technology of the City Council.
In the coming days, updates on the speakers line-up and their topics will be posted in this site. Details on how to register and participate during the seminar and summit proper will also be released soon. In the meantime, the organizers would like to solicit your support by creating a buzz on MBS 4 through your blogs, twitter and social networking accounts.

I had a weird experience at Sweet Home Suite. Around midnight, while asleep, there was at least one person ( I seriously thought there were two) insistently knocking at my door. It took me another hour to get back to sleep.
I hollered and asked “Sino yan?!”. And they fell silent.
I was conscious about security because right after I checked in, a staffer told me to be careful with my stuff (I was using my laptop to access their wifi – which is only accessible at the first two floors) because their guest lost their valuables when a thief came in their room while they were fast asleep!
I’m crossing them out my shortlist of nice places to stay. Had it not been too late in the night, I would’ve moved out to another establishment.

Hi Ryan, is there a boat trip to Zamboanga from Pagadian or maybe Dipolog?
Am scared of the 9-12 hrs trip from here in Iligan considering the Rural buses they burned weeks ago. As if these people do make timings so am scared of early morning trips as well as late evening trips. Maybe you can suggest for boat trips.

I regret to inform you that there's none. Security has been tighten now and safer. Considering that October is fiesta month, more security will be deployed.
There is a daily plane trip via Davao to Zamboanga but it will be more expensive.
I think there's a boat trip from Davao / GenSan to Zamboanga City. Tama ba, Ry?
Yes there is nga pala. Superferry, but scheduled to leave Davao on October 26 and will arrive Zamboanga October 27.
Btw, please give us several days to post the travel info and accommodation details. My OJT are gathering data. Thanks.
Hi again Ryan, am asking for the Dipolog or Pagadian area coz am just from Iligan. Siguro there will be 3 of us from this city. If am from Davao or Gen San then for sure i wont take the bus.
