It’s final: MBS1 on 27 Oct

After taking into account several salient considerations surrounding the 1st Mindanao Bloggers Summit and the 6th Mindanao ICT Congress, the MBS1 organizing team has unanimously decided to set the Summit’s date on 27 October 2007 (Saturday). This is final. We apologize if this slight flip-flopping with the Summit’s event date has caused confusion or conflict.

So let’s move forward!

The program is steadily filling to the brim! We just might make the Summit a whole-day affair, instead of just a half day. There’s still time, however, for you to request for more talks — if you’d like to see more topics, please let us know and we’ll see what we can do!

In the interim, we’re going to have a blogging contest, which will be open to everybody, but will involve Mindanao blogs. This contest will start around August. We’re going to announce the details and mechanics as soon as we’ve firmed them up (and as soon as we have sponsors on board). But here’s a hint: it’s going to involve the Mindanao Blogs Directory!

As a fundraiser, we’re going to sell MindanaoBloggers t-shirts, to be designed by Jojie Alcantara. As soon as we have the design, we’ll post a mini-storefront here for everyone to see! The Usual Suspects Please support this as funds from the sales of our t-shirts will go towards ensuring a successful MBS1. :)

    Hello guys! Great work event you’re coming up with. I look forward to joining the event pero feeling ko mao-OP ako kasi wala masyado akong kilalang bloggers sa Davao. =) I noticed that blank pa yung list of topics for the “Legal Issues of Blogging?”. I’m particularly interested in that coz I would love to find out if there’s any Davao lawyer blogger out there. Baka kasi he/she might turn out to be my teacher! nyarr..

    Wala pang confirmed speaker for “Legal Issues in Blogging”, but we will definitely have that talk during the Summit.
