The Mindanao Bloggers Summit, as has been mentioned before, is part of the larger 6th Mindnaao ICT Congress (MICT). As such, the Summit will stand to benefit from the promotions and marketing that the MICT organizers will do. However, it is apparently also under the mercy of the same organizers’ decisions.
This week, the MICT steering committee decided to move the Congress from 23-24 October, to 19-21 October. The reason? The week 22-27 October will see many IT- and non-IT-related events, such as the Davao Trade Expo, so that the MICT might not get the attention that it deserves.
There were other reasons that were put forward. So, two months into the planning of the 6th MICT Congress, and with barely 4 months to go, the event date has been moved again. Yes, again. Back in May, before the actual planning of the event, the MICT stakeholders (Mindanao Business Council, Davao Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and ICT Davao Inc.) were butting heads over when the 6th Congress should be held. Traditionally it is held in the middle of the year.
In the same decision, the MICT organizers have made it known that the Bloggers Summit should also be moved, to 20 October (still a Saturday, at least).
We’re currently mulling this one over. Should we follow the MICT organizers’ directive? Or should we proceed with the original plan of holding the Summit on the 27th?

By the way, do we already have an official website for the 6th Mindanao ICT Congress to be held in Davao? Any promotional website?
